Daniel Piñera Villar

Hi, my name is Daniel, I am a Computer Engineering student at the Polytechnic School of Engineering of the University of Oviedo, with a strong passion for Computer Science and its applications in real-world problem-solving. Throughout my academic journey, I have developed solid programming, software development, and data management skills.

I completed a 4-month internship at Inetum, a global multinational company, where I gained valuable professional experience working with SAP technologies, focusing on enterprise software solutions and data processing. This experience enhanced my technical abilities and taught me how to collaborate effectively in a professional environment.

Currently, I am developing a mobile application as part of my Bachelor's thesis (TFG) to assist researchers from the University of Oviedo in Antarctica. The application aims to facilitate the collection of solar and snow irradiance data, contributing to scientific research in extreme environments. This project has allowed me to combine my technical expertise with my interest in impactful, technology-driven solutions for research and environmental studies.

Participating in the NASA Space Apps Challenge has been an incredible experience that gave me the opportunity to connect with new individuals, each bringing their own unique perspectives. This collaboration helped me develop my teamwork skills and adapt to new working dynamics, while working on innovative solutions to real-world challenges. The experience not only broadened my network but also provided valuable insights into collaborative problem-solving in a global context.
